ZZ Raven is a striking cultivar of the classic ZZ plant, prized for its dramatic color transformation: new leaves emerge bright lime green, then gradually deepen over several weeks into a rich, glossy near-black. The contrast between fresh growth and mature foliage gives the plant a constantly evolving, two-toned look that sets it apart from the standard green ZZ.
Like its parent species, ZZ Raven is genuinely low-maintenance and forgiving. Its thick, tuberous rhizomes store water efficiently, making it highly drought-tolerant and well-suited to inconsistent watering schedules or lower-light rooms. It adapts to a wide range of light conditions, though brighter indirect light brings out the deepest, most dramatic black coloring in mature leaves.
